Notable among the slew of entertainment industry award events taking place in recent weeks was the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to director Steven Spielberg by the Visual Effects Society during the annual VES Awards event at the Kodak Ballroom Feb. 10. Before receiving his award Spielberg sat down for an exclusive interview with millimeter Senior Editor Michael Goldman to discuss his award, his relationship to the visual effects industry, his interest in combining traditional filmmaking techniques with pushing the effects' medium continually forward, and much more.
